Introduction
On 13 July 2024, Ellesu proudly participated in the Igbo Festival of Arts and Culture, hosted at Pymmes Park, Enfield, London. Organised by the Congress of Igbo Leaders, the event welcomed over 3,000 attendees from the Igbo diaspora across the UK and Europe.
This marked a major milestone for Ellesu as our first large scale public pop up catering event, giving us the opportunity to serve authentic Nigerian street food, connect directly with the community, and increase brand visibility within the London food and events scene.

Our First Large Scale Pop Up Catering Experience
This event represented Ellesu’s first experience operating a pop up food stall at a large public festival, serving hundreds of guests in a fast paced environment.
With only six staff on site, our team worked efficiently to manage food preparation, service, and customer engagement throughout the day. Puff puff was made fresh in batches and sold out rapidly, while the abacha and jollof rice quickly became crowd favourites.
Guest Feedback and Community Response
The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many guests returned multiple times and shared enthusiastic feedback, particularly around the freshness and flavour of the food.
Guest feedback included:
The puff puff was a hit and we wanted more
The abacha tasted authentic and fresh
The jollof rice was rich, well seasoned, and comforting
For Ellesu, this event was not just about sales but about building brand awareness, connecting with the Nigerian diaspora, and showcasing our ability to deliver quality food at scale.
